Yesterday, I worked with an LSU student on her project. She was interested in collecting drones to artificially inseminate queens with Deformed Wing Virus. We placed a queen excluder in front of the colony and collected the drones from the front. We placed them in cages for one of the lab scientists to use later in the week.
