I'm back in Baton Rouge again this summer. The USDA Honeybee Research Lab welcomed me back as an intern for another summer. I'm very excited to start working on all of the amazing projects the lab is working on.
So far we have been topically applying the main chemical found in mosquito pesticides and inhibitors to test the reaction honeybees have.
A student from NCSU has joined us in the lab this week and we have been working on his project. We have been grafting young honeybee larvae and fed them a larvae diet containing chemicals found in pesticides.
I will be sure to take more pictures of the experiments and projects that I am working on this coming week.
Stay tuned!
